Whitehorse Woodland School in Dorset Our Woodland school offers walks, activities, games and adventures in a beautiful natural forest environment in Dorset. Woodland learning is about putting nature and people together so that they can experience, understand and preserve their environment. It is about giving the opportunity to develop the first hand thrill of exploration and the deep knowledge that results. they are fun and educational outdoor activities for children in Dorset and is an ideal day out for Pre-Schools, Schools and any other childcare service. Whitehorse Woodland School What we offer We run full day or half day woodland learning sessions in a beautiful and inspirational woodland environment in Dorset. We do a variety of activities: art work just using what can be found around the woodland as seen in the pictures, bug hunting which we have found to be one of the children's favourites, lifting up bits of wood and pulling back dead bark to find and learn about Dorset's indigenous insects, we teach the children about the indigenous animals around the Dorset area then to add a bit of fun to it we hide models of the animals around the woodland school area and the children must find them, the children build dens whilst learning to tie knots, teamwork and of course a lot of fun.
